Mission Statement for Pleasant Valley Baptist Church
 
In order to fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ, we vow to work together to teach all Believers how to be a greater witness in their everyday lives. Pleasant Valley Baptist Church recognizes and accepts as its mission the teaching of the Body of Christ. This teaching will exhort and empower the Believer to live and walk close to Christ in order to be an effective witness to the world.  Jesus summed up God's commandment by telling us to love the Lord our God with all our heart and to love our neighbor as ourself.  Loving God and Loving Others!
 
Vision Statement for Pleasant Valley Baptist Church
 
Pleasant Valley Baptist Church is committed to fulfilling the Great Commission of Jesus Christ as set forth in Matthew 28:18-20, by:
 
  • Providing solid biblical-based teaching through the areas of preaching, Sunday School, Discipleship Training, Youth and Children Ministries. All ministries of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church will be grounded in the Bible.
     
  • Establishing and maintaining an aggressive, evangelistic ministry of outreach and visitation to be focused in and through the Sunday School.
     
  • Ministering to the spiritual and physical needs of our members and our community.
     
  • Providing an atmosphere of praise and worship through our preaching, music and giving.
Core Values for Pleasant Valley Baptist Church
  •       We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God and it is our authority for all we do.
     
  •       We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of mankind. He is the model we use to guide our lives.
     
  •       We believe that the Holy Spirit is the Comforter sent from God and it is the Holy Spirit that empowers us for ministry.
     
  •       We believe in the power of prayer and strive to make it a priority in all that we do.
     
  •       We believe that the church is the body of Christ and as individual members; we must all work together for the glory of God.
     
  •       We believe in the importance of missions and as a Southern Baptist church, we will support missions through the Cooperative Program.
     
  •       We believe in mankind’s need for a Savior and will make evangelizing the lost of our community a primary focus of this church.
